Obituary for David A. Leidig

Rochester: June 7th, 2022 at the age of 94 left this world to join his beloved wife of 68 years, Dorothy and other family members who have preceded him. A resident of Linden Knoll in Brighton, David was born in Warren, PA to the late Jacob Baer Leidig and Alice Marguerite Schwing Leidig. He spent most of his adult life in Irondequoit, NY. David is survived by his two sons, Paul (Sieni) and Carl (Rebecca); a grandson, William; niece, Lynnie Smith (Gary); 2 nephews, Gregory Nothhard (Diane) and Gary Nothhard; cousin, Sammy Miller. He met his wife at the University of Rochester where he graduated in 1950 and she in 1951. David served in the US Air Force during the Korean War and worked as a Systems Analyst for Eastman Kodak for most of his career. After his retirement in 1986, he worked seasonally at H&R Block for several years. David and Dorothy were active in several volunteer non-profit organizations including United Way and the Landmark Society of Rochester. A life long member of Transfiguration Lutheran Church, he was active in education and evangelism ministries.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, August 6th, 11am at Transfiguration Lutheran Church, 3760 Culver Rd. Rochester, NY 14622. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to the church.
