Irondequoit: On March 19th, 2020, Dorothy, age 90, left this world to join family members who have preceded her. She is survived by her husband, David, her two sons Paul (Sieni) and Carl (Rebecca), a grandson, William, a niece, Lynnie Smith (Gary), two nephews Gregory Nothhard (Diane) and Gary Nothhard. Dorothy was a graduate of the University of Rochester (1951). She worked as a substitute teacher and as a seasonal employee and instructor for H&R Block for many years. Dorothy was active in several volunteer non-profit organizations. A life-long member of Transfiguration Lutheran Church, she was active in communication, committees and in women's circles. The family is deeply grateful for the care provided by the Friendly Home in the last 8 months.

A Memorial Service will be scheduled later in her memory. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to Transfiguration Lutheran Church, 3760 Culver Road, Rochester, NY 14622.

Dave ,Paul ,Sieni Carl and family. I’m so glad I was able to enjoy having Dorothy in my life for over 25 years , making her hair look good .Dorothy was not only a client but a dear friend to myself and my family . She watched me grow up , have a daughter and then saw me get to be a grandmother . She loved her family and always shared about her grandkids and she was so proud of everyone . I will miss seeing her and one day we will all be together again. She’s an angel 😇 looking over all of us . May god bless you all .we are all praying for you . Love Melanie ,Alexa ,Bri, Marie and Lou Barbato.
