Obituary for Doug Winters

Irondequoit—Monday, December 3, 2018 at the age of 70 after a brief battle with Lymphoma. Predeceased by his parents, Nelson and Elizabeth; sister, Cindy Clark. Survived by his wife of 34 years, Robin Winters; children, Bryan Douglas (Kathryn), Krystina and Kevin (Katie Herman); grandchildren, Anna Rose, Daniel Douglas and Paul Winters; many nieces, nephews and in-laws.

Doug was a welcoming, warmhearted and sincere friend to many. Doug’s hobbies included being a mender of all things broken, an auto enthusiast, WNY history aficionado, U of R Economics Dept alumnus, tool man extraordinaire, master groundskeeper, logistics professional, lifetime learner, beaming retiree and chief architect, engineer and laborer of countless volunteer and household projects. Many of those projects were at the homes of friends and family. Doug’s proudest accomplishments and most lasting legacy will be the unyielding devotion to his loving wife, the deep pride in his doting children and his unconditional love and patience for his adoring grandchildren.The family would like to give special thanks to the entire staff and doctors of the 5500 and 6800 units at RGH.
