Obituary for Elizabeth Betty Lou Gruner (Cayley)
Survived by H.Walter Gruner; son, Eric Gruner (Larissa); granddaughter, Hannah Gruner; daughter, Diane Laudadio (Michael)
Predeceased by her parents, Murray A Cayley and Arline F Cayley, and son, David Gruner.
Graduate of Keuka College and The University of Rochester earning a Masters of Science degree in Nursing education. She dedicated her career in nursing to improving conditions for the elderly in nursing homes and was an advocate for patient rights and equitable treatment focusing on families' abilities to maintain dignity for their loved ones when faced with end-of-life decisions.
Elizabeth enjoyed swimming, gardening, painting, playing the recorder, and tending to her raspberry patch, but it brought her the most joy to spend time with her beloved granddaughter Hannah. Hannah will always cherish the time spent painting out in the garden and picking raspberries with her G.G.. She will forever hold on to the many life lessons that G.G. instilled in her.
A celebration of Elizabeth's life will be held at a later date.
