Obituary for Jean S. Schlageter

Greece: Saturday, Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at the age of 92. Predeceased by her husband, William. Survived by sons, William (Maria), Robert (Valerie) and Alan (Mary) Schlageter; 6 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Jean was born in Rochester, N.Y. and was a 1946 graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School. She was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Jean was an active member and Sunday School teacher at St. John’s Lutheran Church along with being a member of the Lutheran Church Women’s organization. Jean was avid and accomplished league bowler for over 30-years, often a teammate of her beloved mother, Gladys Street. She worked as a secretary at the Eastman Kodak Company from 1968 -1986. She and her husband Bill enjoyed travel and for many years following their retirement explored all of the contiguous United States in their recreational vehicle. Jean and Bill were members of the Family Motor Coach Association, and for 25-years, they were October-April residents of Sun N Fun RV resort in Sarasota, Florida.






Friends are welcome Wednesday, May 26th from 4-7pm at the Dreier-Giltner Funeral Home, 1717 Portland Ave. where a Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, May 27th at 11am. Interment Mt. Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation (Parkinson's Disease) or a charity of your choice.
