Obituary for John C. Knope
Webster: Unexpectedly Sunday, December 19th, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by his loving wife, Sandra; sister, Pattie Tumminelli. Survived by his children, Jeff (Tanya) Knope, Wendy Knope and Christopher (Abigail) Knope; grandchildren, Tyler, Zoe, Zachary, Emily, Megan, Isabella and Gracie; brother, Michael (Madeline) Knope; sister, Kathleen Knope; several brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
John was a retired Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army as well as a retiree of Blue Cross Blue Shield. John was very active and proud to have coached his children’s sports teams. Besides his children, he was like a father to so many. He will be remembered by his family as a hero and will be missed by all who knew him.
Family and friends are welcome Tuesday, December 28th from 4-7pm at the Dreier-Giltner Funeral Home 1717 Portland Ave. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, December 29th 10am at St. Kateri Parish at Christ the King Church.
