Obituary for Judith J. "Judy" Haller (Slate)
Penfield: Wednesday, August 17th, 2022 surrounded by family at the age of 79. She was predeceased by her parents, Eugene and Thelma Slate, husband, Norbert (Bud) Haller, her brother, George Slate, brother-in-law, William Blaesi and granddaughter, Kate Haines. She is survived by her sons, David (Tina) and Michael (Amy) ; special daughter, Kristen Kommeth Todd (Christopher) ; grandchildren, Joshua and Jordan Haller; great-grandchildren, Bella and Gabe; sisters-in-law, Diane Blaesi and Barbara Haller; many nieces and nephews and cherished friends.
Judy attended Nazareth Academy and then Rochester Business Institute for medical secretary training. She worked at her son's schools including St. Cecilia's and Bishop Kearney HS. She was an active member of the Irondequoit Theater Guild, Beta Sigma Phi sorority and the Ladies' Auxiliary for the Ridge Culver Fire Department. She was known for her boisterous laughter and infectious smile.
Family and friends are welcome Sunday, August 21 from 1-3 and 6-8pm at the Dreier-Giltner Funeral Home 1717 Portland Ave. where a Prayer Service will be held Monday, August 22 at 10am. Interment will follow in Clayton, NY. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to be made in Judy's honor to Shepherd Home, 1959 Five Mile Line Rd. Penfield , NY 14526.
