Obituary for Mary C. MacNamara
Rochester: Saturday, October 30th, 2021 at the age of 80. She was predeceased by her parents, Catherine (Rombaut) and Edwin MacNamara. Mary was a graduate of Sacred Heart Academy for Girls and continued her education at Nazareth College, graduating in 1961. She earned her Bachelors Degree, Magna Cum Laude, in History along with a second degree, Cum Laude, in Sacred Theology. Following graduation, she worked at Lawyers Co-op for many years.
While she had no immediate family, she enjoyed the affection and caring of her friends, joining them often for lunch and cards. She also was devoted to her large "family" of cats, sheltering and finding them homes. She had a strong Catholic faith, favoring Masses, hymns and prayers in Latin.
In respect for her always being a very private person, a simple graveside service was held at the family plot in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Church 4100 Lyell Rd. on Wednesday, November 10th at 11am. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to Edward J. Lynd 19 Tottenham Rd. 14609.
