Obituary for Micheal J. Conley

Irondequoit: Passed peacefully at age 90 on December 19th, 2020. He lived by the philosophy of family first and is survived by his wife of 53 years, Judith; daughters, Maureen Conley, Sheila (Jeff) Laszlo; sister, Patricia Messerino; sisters-in-law, Susan and Dianne Whalen; adopted granddaughter, Delicia Telfer and a host of nephews, nieces and great-nephews and nieces. He was born and raised in East Rochester, NY which according to him is the best town in this country. He started working at the age of 12 and never stopped. He delivered newspapers, worked in a bank, owned his own garage where people came for miles to get their cars fixed, and for the Eastman Kodak Company. He found time to join the US Navy where he served for two years keeping the books for the captain of his ship, but was best known for having chocolate syrup under his desk for emergency sundae making. While working for Eastman Kodak he maintained his passion for cars by continuing to repair them for family, friends and customers in his off hours. Mike was always ready with a story and even though the details sometimes changed over the years, he could entertain a room for hours. Mike took pride in his house and for 53 years could be found on Wyndale Rd. cutting the lawn, weeding a patio, snow blowing the neighborhood, or raking leaves. He always, however, found time to stop and share a story.

Family and friends are welcome to attend Mike's Funeral Mass on Saturday, December 26th at 12noon in St. Jerome's Church. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, his family asks that you take the time to listen to each other's stories. Donations may be made to Friends of Borgne Inc. 17 1/2 Ontario St. Honeoye Falls, NY 14472.
