Obituary for Robert F. "Fred" Urlacher

Robert “Fred” Urlacher, born April 14, 1926 passed away peacefully on December 29, 2018. Fred was pre-deceased by Sally, his loving wife of nearly 60 years, sons Mark and Paul, brother Charles and sister Virginia Wania. He is survived by his daughters Susan (Richard) DeFrank, Beth (Jeff) Fischer, Mary (Matthew) Kellman, daughter in law Becky and son Greg (Margaret), 19 loving grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren; many loving nieces and nephews. Fred served our country in WWII with the US Marines Corps and was a lifelong member of the RG&E Armed Forces Club. Fred proudly worked at the Rochester Gas and Electric for 40 years. He was a founding member of Christ the King Parish and served on many committee’s in support of his church. He was a longtime member of the downtown YMCA. No matter where Fred went, he made an impact with his matter of fact, honest, and caring manner. He was a loyal friend to many. The family would especially like to thank the staff at the Maplewood Nursing Home for the outstanding care they gave to Fred the past 9 years.



Friends are welcome Friday 4-7PM at the Dreier-Giltner Funeral Home, 1717 Portland Ave. Fred's Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday at 9:30AM at St. Kateri at Christ the King Church, 445 Kings Highway South in Irondequoit. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Fred’s name to the School of the Holy Childhood.
