Rochester: Wednesday, September 16, 2015. Predeceased by his wife Doris Louise Drews Wennerstrom. He is survived by his daughters, Ann Cefalu and Carol (Curt) Chambers; son, Joel Wennerstrom; grandchildren, Catherine, Matthew (Mallory), and Elizabeth Cefalu, Sarah (Mike) Juricic and Adam Chambers. He was ordained into the Ministry at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in New Orleans, LA, and also served parishes at Faith Lutheran Church in Rome, NY, Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Pittsburgh, PA, St. Matthews Lutheran Church and the Lutheran Church of the Incarnate Word in Rochester, NY. While in Rochester he helped launch several notable initiatives to benefit the under privileged and under served in the community: Group 14621, CoME (Community Ministry to the Elderly) and JET Enterprises.


Friends are welcome to call Friday 3-7pm at the Dreier-Giltner Funeral Home Inc. 1717 Portland Ave. His Funeral Service will be celebrated Saturday 10am at the Lutheran Church of the Incarnate Word, 597 East Ave. Interment White Haven Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be given to Incarnate Word in support of the Dominican Healthcare Project.
