Obituary for Sr. Ann Cullen

Sister Ann Cullen, RSM (Mary Lambert) was called home by God, November 8, 2022 during her 73rd year as a Sister of Mercy. Sister Ann entered the Sisters of Mercy following her graduation from Holy Family High School, Auburn, NY. She received a BS in Education from, Medaille College and a MS in Education from Canisius College. She also received Permanent Certification in Education from NYS.

She taught in several Rochester Diocesan Catholic Schools as well as in Auburn, Corning, Elmira, Newark and Owego. She also was Principal at Annunciation School. Before becoming a Home-Hospital Teacher for the Rochester City School District, Sister Ann worked at Holy Angels Home in Rochester. In retirement, Sister Ann coordinated the annual sales, served as a volunteer when needed, and made many items for Kate’s Tea and Gift Shop.

She is lovingly survived by her sister, Adelaide Demaso of Auburn, nieces, nephews, and the Sisters of Mercy. Donations in her memory may be made to the Sisters of Mercy 1437 Blossom Road, Rochester, NY 14610


Her Funeral Mass will be Monday, November, 14, 10 AM at Mercy Center Chapel. Prior to Mass the casket will be open in Chapel for 45 minutes. Interment will follow immediately after the funeral at St. Joseph Cemetery, 6020 Lake Ave. Auburn, NY
