Obituary for Sr. Lorraine Masucci

Brighton: Sister Lorraine Masucci, RSM (Sister M. Cephas) was called home by God on Friday, November 23, 2018, during her 76th year as a Sister of Mercy. Sister Lorraine received her BS in Education from St. Bonaventure College and an MS in Religious Education from Seattle University in WA. Teaching ministries were at Our Lady of Mt. Camel, St. Mary’s, Corning, & St. Louis. She was a religious education coordinator at St. John’s, Clyde. Following her work as pastoral assistant at St. Paul of the Cross Parish, Honeoye Falls, she moved to Atlanta, Georgia where she became an adult religious education coordinator in the Diocese of Atlanta. While in Atlanta she worked as an adult education consultant for the Archdiocese of Atlanta, & volunteered in the adult education program at the Church of St. Ann in Atlanta. Survivors include her sisters, Madeline Winkler Gardner, Betty Drake, brother, Anthony Masucci, Jr., nieces, nephews, and the Sisters of Mercy.
Friends are welcome Thursday from 4 to 7 PM at Mercy Center, 1437 Blossom Road, where her vigil service will be held at 7 PM. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday at 10 AM at Mercy Center. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to the Sisters of Mercy.
