Obituary for Wilma Mary Darling

Irondequoit: Passed away peacefully in her sleep October 3, 2014 in her 94th year.
Predeceased by her beloved husband of 65 years, Bruce Darling; and her parents, George and Margaret Langenbacher. Survived by her four children, Roxanne (Steve) Walther of Rochester, NY, Bruce Darling Jr. (Masuyo) of Saporo, Japan, Donna (John) Kelly of Milton, MA and Michael (Darlene) Darling of Milton, ON, Canada. Wilma was cherished Nana to Erica (Schlaefer) and Greg Walther, Naomi and Nicole Darling, Quinn and Colin Kelly, and Clifford, Graham, Lindsay (Escott) and Gordon Darling. She also was proud to boast of her 18 great-grandchildren.
Wilma was born July 21, 1920 in Rochester, NY. She lived and had many friends in Rochester, NY, and Marco Island and Naples, FL. Wilma was a tireless volunteer and managed to be chairperson of a number of prestigious organizations including Rochester's Engineering Women's Club and the Naples Arts Foundation. She was deeply interested in the lives and accomplishments of her grandchildren and never tired of remarking on how great they turned out to be and on what wonderful people they married. She will be remembered for being beautiful, always immaculately dressed, a believer in Angels, and a woman of remarkable talents. The family would like to sincerely thank Karol Haag and Toni Owens for their devoted and compassionate care.
A private memorial service will be held for Wilma at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
