Rochester: Passed away peacefully on May 20, 2016 at St. John's Home at the age of 100, where she had been living for the past three years. Myrtle was born in Rochester on October 29, 1915. She graduated from East High School and went on to be a secretary at Rochester Germicide. Myrtle and her husband Owen W. Blake were both raised in the same neighborhood and knew each other through school and church. They were lifelong members of Christ the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and married in 1940. Myrtle's family was at the center of her life and she enjoyed the frequent get togethers. She was physically active throughout her life, even trying cross-country skiing in her late 70's. She was predeceased by her husband Owen; her sisters, Florence Linhos, Ruth Haas, Dorothy Worden, Lucille Aberle; and her brothers, Merton and Howard Linhos. She is survived by her daughter, Judith E. Blake; son, Owen W. (Harriet) Blake; grandson, Jason Blake; several nieces and nephews.

Friends are welcome Wednesday 10-11am at the Dreier-Giltner Funeral Home Inc. 1717 Portland Ave. where a Funeral Service will be at 11am. Interment will be held privately at White Haven Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Christ the Good Shepherd Church 1000 North Winton Rd or to St. John's Home 100 Highland Ave.
