Brighton: Sr. Mary Concepta died on April 30, 2014 in the year of her 75th Jubilee as a Sister of Mercy. Sr. Concepta was a long time teacher of primary grades and then pioneered in an outreach program ministering at Joseph Ave. Center in Rochester. In 1983 she joined Sr. Phyllis Bernardo in a pastoral ministry in Indianola, MS where they served until 2002. In retirement her time was spent in the spiritual apostolate, praying for those in need. She is survived by her niece, Lorraine (Donald) Walker; her nephews, Larry Gerard and Michael (Karen) Walsh and the Sisters of Mercy.

Friends are welcome to call MONDAY 4-7pm at the Mercy Center (1437 Blossom Rd.) where a Vigil Service will be held at 7pm. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated TUESDAY 10:30am also at the Mercy Center. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Memorials in her name may be directed to the Sisters of Mercy.
