Obituary for Elizabeth Jane "Betty" Szembrot (Nary)
Irondequoit/Henrietta: Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at the age of 85. Predeceased by her siblings, Robert and Anne Nary. Survived by her beloved husband of 63 years, Albert R. Szembrot and loving children: Michele (Thomas) Driscoll, Mary Lou (Ned) Pease, Dick (Karen), Jean Brown, Joe (Nancy), Barb (Darryl) Walczak, and Theresa (Michael) Zazzara; 14 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; brother and sisters-in-law, Raymond (Diane) Nary and Carole Nary; many other family members and friends.
Betty was a graduate of Nazareth Academy, long-time member of the Church of the Good Shepherd, and served as Past President of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus.
Friends are welcome Sunday 2-6pm at the John M. Hedges Funeral Home 1717 Portland Ave. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday 11am in the chapel of St. Ann's Home 1500 Portland Ave. A reception will follow at Chapel Oaks 1550 Portland Ave. Interment will be private at White Haven Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the School of the Holy Childhood.
