Irondequoit: Saturday, December 17, 2016. Predeceased by his parents, Lewis "Whitey" and Mary Smith. Survived by his wife, Kathy Smith; son, Lewis R. Smith (Kim); daughter, Leanne Frye; brother, Patrick (Michele) Smith; sisters, Mary Margaret (Mike) Baldwin, Geraldine (John) Dank, and Bernadette Smith; grandchildren, Vincent and Alexander Giuliano, Madyson Frye, Carrie Clyne, Timothy, Aaron, Daniel, and Joseph Smith. Greg was a past chief of the Laurelton Fire Department and also the Commissioner of the Fire Department, a 40 year retiree of Kodak as a chief engineer, an active member of St. Ambrose Church, a member of the American Legion, Knights of Columbus, Lakeshore Country Club, as well as the Ancient Order of Hibernians.

Friends are welcome Wednesday 3-7pm at the John M. Hedges Funeral Home 1717 Portland Ave. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday 10am at Peace of Christ Parish at St. Ambrose Church. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Laurelton Fire Department or to the church.
