Lucey, Helga K.
Irondequoit: 92, formerly of Irondequoit, passed away Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at Rochester General Hospital. She was born January 25, 1920 in Germany to the late Adolf and Martha Kubica. Helga was predeceased by her loving husband, Leslie. She is survived by her son James (Diane) Lucey of Walworth, New York, daughter Pamela (John) Monnier of Columbia, South Carolina, five grandchildren, Carolyn (Stuart) Brown and Sara (Eric) Miller of Connecticut, Dr. Susanne (Jose') Cabrera of Wisconsin, Philip (Patricia) Monnier of Illinois and Stephen Monnier of Georgia, four great grandchildren, Lucy and Samuel Miller, Charlotte Brown and Lucas Cabrera as well as cousins in Germany and many nieces and nephews.
Helga was a life member of St. John's Lutheran Church and she and her husband were avid dancers, loved live theater, entertaining family and guests, and playing cards. Helga lived the last three years at Linden Knoll where she engaged in many activities with other residents. She was very committed to her family.
A memorial service honoring Helga and her late husband, Leslie will be held at St. John's Lutheran Church, 800 East Ridge Road, Irondequoit, New York on Saturday, July 21 at 11 AM, followed by a lunch reception. Donations in memory of Helga can be sent to St. John's Lutheran Church.
