Pittsford, NY: Died on Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at the age of 70 following a rapidly progressing illness. Linda was born on July 2, 1943 in Rochester, NY to the late Frank and Marie Haimerl. After graduating from SUNY Geneseo with a Bachelor's Degree, she continued her education at Nazareth College, where she earned a Master's Degree in Education. Linda retired after thirty two years as a Special Education Teacher for the Rochester City School District. Later she enjoyed her part time job and the friends she made there. Linda was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was an avid gardener and a deacon for many years at St. John's Lutheran Church. She was predeceased by her brother, Rev. Dr. Arthur F. Haimerl. Linda is survived by her loving son Robert (Carol) Crowley; cherished grandson, Daniel Crowley; sister-in-law, Nancy Haimerl; nephews, Mark, Scott, and Todd; family, friends, students and all Rob's friends who called her "Mom."
Family and friends are invited to a Memorial Service on Sunday at 3pm at St. John's Lutheran Church (800 East Ridge Rd). Burial will be private at White Haven Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Hildebrandt Hospice Care Center 2652 Ridgeway Ave. Rochester, NY 14626.
