Lilburn, GA: Formerly of Rochester. Passed away on August 6, 2013 at the age of 89. She was born in Auburn, NY on September 3, 1923 to John and Adelaide Morgan and married Franklin C. Shaughnessy on February 11, 1956. She devoted her entire life to serving the needs of those in her family and community. Patricia always put the needs of others first.
A devout Catholic who loved Jesus Christ, Patricia was a member of The Third Order of The Blessed Virgin Mary of Mt. Carmel. She and her husband Frank were founding members of the Legion of Mary in Rochester where they spent hours and hours working for the group. Patricia was also an active member of the Medical Missions Group in the Rochester area. She opened her home to host meetings for members where they would pack medical kits for families overseas. She was a living, breathing example of the life Jesus calls each of us to lead.
Patricia is survived by her sisiter, Marion "Honey" Mongan (Downey, CA), nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Franklin C. Shaughnessy; her parents, John and Adelaide Morgan; her 2 brothers, Paul A. Morgan (Tucker, GA) and Fr. John A. Morgan; and her sister, Betty Gillooly (Camarillo, CA).
Friends are welcome to call Sunday 2-4 PM at the JOHN M. HEDGES FUNERAL HOME, 1717 Portland Ave. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday 10:30 AM at Blessed Kateri at St. Cecilia Church (2732 Culver Rd). Interment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
