Obituary

Irondequoit: Suddenly Thursday, August 6th, 2020 at the age of 49. Predeceased by both sets of grandparents. Survived by his mother and father, Lucyna and Basil; daughters, Sophie and Maya Shuryn; sisters, Irene (Gary) Hazelton and Lidia Shuryn; nephews, Jacob, Matthew and Maxim. Roman was a US Army veteran serving in the Gulf War. He was an auto mechanic by trade and quite the handyman. You could always find him doing something involving mechanics, electrical or masonry work.




Friends are welcome Monday, August 10th from 4-7pm at the Dreier-Giltner Funeral Home 1717 Portland Ave. (just north of E. Ridge Rd.) Panakhyda at 4pm. Roman's Funeral Liturgy will be Tuesday, August 11th at 10am in St. Josaphat's Ukrainian Catholic Church. Interment with military honors at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Veterans Outreach Center, 447 South Ave. Rochester, NY 14620.
