East Rochester: Monday, May 13, 2013. Predeceased by his wife Jean Kraftschik and his dear friend Gertrude August. Survived by his son, Wayne Mayer; daughter, Diane (Guy Prentice) Beyea; grandchildren, Travis (Shannon), Ryan, Kyle, Andrew, and Kelsey; great-grandchildren, Dakota, Callie, Autumn, and Travis Ellison. Mr. Mayer was a Air Force Bomber Pilot in WWII, a 40 year retiree of Gleason Works, a musician his entire life, student at Eastman School of Music, member of Irondequoit Concert Band, a 32nd degree Mason.

Friends are welcome to call SUNDAY 2-6PM at the DREIER-GILTNER FUNERAL HOME INC. 1717 Portland Ave. (corner of Portland and East Ridge Rd.) His Graveside Service with Military Honors will be TUESDAY 1pm at White Haven Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to collingsfoundation.org (the only flying B-24 in existence)
